Dear Friends,
Happy Mother's Day! What a wonderful day, we love our beautiful moms. May your day be blessed with love and happiness. I would like to give a special shout out to Katie Dies. She and Josh own and operate the Stick Boy in Fuquay-Varina. She just recently had Jonah, their first baby, and this Mother's Day is a special one for her. What a beautiful baby boy and congratulations!

Bread of the Week: LEMON BRIOCHE

We introduced Lemon Brioche a few weeks back, and it you loved it! So, I thought that it would be a great bread to offer this week. It's a delicious and refreshing loaf of bread. Lemon zest and lemon extract are added to our rich, buttery brioche dough to make one super tasty loaf of bread. It's perfect for this time of year. I look for light and refreshing flavors to go with Spring, and I think this bread is not only wonderful for breakfast (especially warmed up with raspberry jam spread on top), but it will also go great with a fresh salad. Give Lemon Brioche a try this week, and if you come up with a delicious way to use this bread, please let us know. We love to hear about how you are using the bread!

Lemon Brioche is not on our regular bread schedule, but we will offer it every day this week at a sale price of $4.29 (regularly $4.99).
As always, we mix our breads from scratch, shape them by hand, and bake them in our big German oven, right here in our bakery on Hardin Street. We bake only with unbleached and unbromated flour and never use any additives or preservatives. Come and taste.

Baker's Choice
|
 Our constant experimentation with new breads has created a surplus of recipes that we cannot possibly make on a weekly basis. Our solution to this problem is to offer daily specials, or as we call them, "Baker's Choice breads." These breads change from week to week. To see our regular bread schedule, click here. For the week of May 14th through May 17th the special breads will be as follows:
Monday: Miche - It's our awesome sourdough made with whole wheat flour.
Tuesday: Chocolate Cherry Boule - The perfect combination of dark chocolate and dried cherries. In a bread? Who knew?
Wednesday: Chipotle Cheddar - Giving a good kick in the pants to a delicious cheddar French with chipotle peppers.
Thursday: Rosemary Yeast Rolls - Perfectly buttery yeast rolls with a hint of rosemary.

Some smoothies are made with sweetened fruit syrup and a smoothie "base" that has ingredients you can't even pronounce. At Stick Boy, we use only fresh frozen whole fruits that make a delicious and thick real fruit smoothie. Even the base is up to you with choices that include real fruit juices, yogurt, milk and soy milk. Our smoothies make a great meal on the run or a perfect after-school snack. Whatever the occasion, our smoothies are a delicious treat that you can feel good about (even if you get it with our homemade whipped cream on top)! Check out our house favorites or build your own.
