We're celebrating! This month marks NINE YEARS of business, and we want to thank YOU for being such loyal and friendly customers. Bread of the Week: SUMMER STOLLEN

Get it while you can! This is the LAST week for Summer Stollen (sniff, sniff) until next Spring, so stock up! This delightful bread is made with dried blueberries, candied lemon peel, dried pineapple, cranberries and pecans. The fruit and nut combination is mixed in a sweet dough, and the loaf is folded and baked to perfection. We drizzle the top with a blueberry and lemon zest icing. It is all so refreshing, and we are sad to see it go, but have no fear, the winter stollen is just around the corner!
Summer Stollen is a seasonal bread offered only during the Spring and Summer! It is normally $10.99, but this week we will have it for $9.99.
As always, we mix our breads from scratch, shape them by hand, and bake them in our big German oven, right here in our bakery on Hardin Street. We bake only with unbleached and unbromated flour and never use any additives or preservatives. Come and taste.

Our constant experimentation with new breads has created a surplus of recipes that we cannot possibly make on a weekly basis. Our solution to this problem is to offer daily specials, or as we call them, "our daily breads." These breads change from week to week. To see our regular bread schedule, click here. For the week of August 30th through September 4th the special breads will be as follows:

Monday: Mocha Brioche - Buttery brioche made with cocoa, chocolate chips and coffee grounds.
Tuesday: Apple Sourdough - Old World sourdough made juicy and slightly sweet with Granny Smith apples.
Wednesday: Molasses Chocolate Chip Whole Wheat - A little sweetness & a lot of wholesomeness can go a long way.
Thursday: Praline Brioche - A special sourdough buttermilk brioche filled with a spiral of roasted pecans, brown sugar and lemon zest.
Friday: Miche - A whole wheat French sourdough, nutty and tangy.
Saturday: Golden Potato Bread - Oven-roasted potatoes incorporated into a rich prefermented dough with milk, butter, and egg.

The Coconut Cookies is one of my favorites, and I'm so excited to see them back in the pastry case. This is a delicious sugar cookie mixed with tons, and I mean TONS, of yummy coconut. Every bite becomes a chewy, flavorful craze. And, not to mention that it's super amazing with a cup of hot coffee. Grrrreat!
